The daughter of a former stag film star falls under the influence of a rock singer (Jordan Christopher) and his way-out deviant band mates.

The film was originally released as Angel, Angel, Down We Go in 1969 by American International Pictures, which in 1970 retitled it Cult of the Damned and distributed it on a double bill with The Vampire Lovers.

Cast as rock band member Santoro, Roddy McDowall had appeared the previous year as Cornelius in 1968's The Planet of the Apes.
