Directed by Sylvester Stalone (Rambo) this sequel to 1977's Saturday Night Fever finds Tony Manero (John Travolta) seeking to make it as a dancer on the Broadway stage.

In preparation for the role, Travolta spent five months in training (and lost 20 pounds) so as to develop a dancer's physique for the film.

The production was filmed in New York City, New York (Ethel Barrymoore Theater), and Los Angeles, California (Orpheum Theater and Philharmonic Auditorium).
