"Umgawa!" Johnny Sheffield's jungle boy uses the word previously associated with Johnny Weissmuller's Tarzan for the first time in a Bomba film.

In his fifth adventure on film, the jungle lad encounters a safari of hunters who are trapping lions so as to sell them to zoos.

Former wrestler Woody Strode (cast as the warrior Walu) would later encounter two Tarzans - Gordon Scott in Tarzan's Fight for Life (1958) and Jock Mahoney in Tarzan's Three Challenges (1963).

Scenes were filmed at the botanical gardens in Arcadia, California.

The film's "wild animals" were provided by Jungleland, an animal preserve that was located in Thousand Oaks California.

Actor Davis Roberts (Lohu) would later appear in an episode of the Ron Ely Tarzan television series (S2.E10) titled The Pride of the Lioness (1967).
